Educator. Military Spouse. Community Leader. Neighbor.
Why Am I Running?
I am running for the Montgomery County School Board because our children deserve a safe, strong, and forward-thinking education rooted in our community’s values.
I have experienced the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System as a student, parent, and teacher. I believe quality education is about more than test scores. We must build safe infrastructure for a growing population, provide fact-based curriculum, support professional educators, and ensure schools have the staff needed to function every day. We must also responsibly embrace technology to enhance learning. As a Real Estate Agent, I find the most common questions asked by families new to Montgomery County are about schools. A strong, respected and trusted school system is vital for positive growth of our community. As a military daughter and then spouse, I was exposed to diverse educational systems across multiple states and countries, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges military families face. Although blessed to have traveled, I have lived in Montgomery County for over 34 years and am firmly rooted in our local culture. I will bring conservative values, diverse experience, integrity, and transparency to the Montgomery County School Board.
Experience and Community Involvement
I have over 20 years of classroom teaching experience, teaching grades 2–8 in public, Christian, and Department of Defense schools across four states. My experience includes traditional curriculum, STEM education, and Inclusion instruction. Although I retired from CMCSS in 2015, I did not retire from education. I later developed a STEM after-school program for the Nashville Public Library, served on the Customs House Museum Guild and tu tored for the Adult Literacy program. Community service has always been central to my life. I am an active Rotarian-currently serving as Secretary to our club, have received the honor of Rotarian of the Year twice, and helped bring Clarksville high school students into service through the Interact Club. I also serve as Co-Chair of Best of Clarksville and am a proud graduate of Leadership Clarksville, Class of 2020 Our family also hosted four international exchange students, offering valuable global perspective while remaining rooted in local schools. Living a military life shaped our family’s values of service, responsibility, and resilience, values I bring to public education leadership.
Family
I have been married for over 37 years. My husband, Mark, is a retired Army Officer who served for over twenty years in the 101st, 5thSpecial Forces Group, and Blanchfield Community Hospital. We went through eight moves, Special Forces training, residency and six combat deployments together. He continues his career with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. We raised our daughters, Caroline and Catherine, in Montgomery County—both graduates of Rossview High School and the University of Tennessee. Go Vols! We have two beautiful granddaughters, Fiona and Adelinn. If you have grandchildren, you know the joy they bring!
At home, I enjoy family time, hosting friends, gardening, traveling, and caring for our animals, mostly rescues, including horses and cats.

Your support and donations will go to help Chris Trawinski for CMCSS School Board- District 7. Thank you!
